About Us
Initially a joint venture between Jupiter Research Foundation and Roger Hine to develop an unmoored, station-keeping data buoy for monitoring humpback whales, Liquid Robotics was incorporated in January of 2007 to continue development of the technology. The Wave Glider is our flagship product, enabling dozens of applications and missions never before possible. Now, with a growing staff, Liquid Robotics is poised to capture this newly created niche in the marine technology market, bringing the innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of Silicon Valley to the ocean science and technology sector.
Sunnyvale, California
Liquid Robotics maintains its headquarters in Sunnyvale, California. Engineering, production, and administration are all based here. The Sunnyvale design team works to continuously improve the Wave Glider and adapt it to new missions. Production of customer orders also occurs in California.
Kawaihae, Hawaii
Marine operations are based on the Big Island of Hawaii. This facility supports both internal and customer-sponsored engineering trials. Customer orders undergo an initial sea trial in our Hawaii test range prior to delivery. Favorable weather and sea conditions make our marine operations exceptionally productive, allowing for the rapid evolution of ideas to meet new customer requirements.
