The Wave Glider system comprises the Float connected via a 6 m (20 ft) umbilical to the Sub, the underwater component. The Float contains the main computer as well as solar panels to generate energy for onboard equipment and sensors. Both the float and the sub can carry payloads.
The Wave Glider's flexible hardware and software architecture allows it to host a wide range of sensors in addition to those available on the standard Wave Glider configurations. Configured-to-Order Wave Gliders allow you to mix and match sensor payloads based upon your mission criteria and the available power envelope.
